Ignore for a minute if you will, what those TV shows tell you about “doomsday preppers” and the like, and instead focus on what you do in terms of safety for you and your family. In the home, in the car for a road trip, hiking & camping or any number of adventure or outdoor action sports. Some may not bother, while others have a pack of plaster and some Benadryl or a hip flask of whiskey!
Well the team at Uncharted Supply Co. have just started crowdfunding for their latest product that has a place in any form of travel, home or away.
The Seventy2 from Uncharted is a survival pack or grab bag, packed with over 30 tools and items designed to sustain your well being during the first 72 hours of an emergency situation.
Now, this is not a simple rucksack stuffed with some items the local store has been unable to sell during the holiday season. The pack has been designed and built with a team of subject matter experts who know their stuff, and demand the highest quality equipment!
Yes the probability of you or me pushing ourselves to the extreme measure that they do may never happen, but emergency situations can happen to any of us, anywhere.
So, what sets the Seventy2 apart?
The grey outer pack is made from a waterproof tarpaulin, that, when the top is rolled shut makes it water tight and air tight. So, even when loaded, can be used as a flotation device. The shoulder straps have flashlight mounts and even the Uncharted logo is reflective!
Once inside you will find an internal black pack, which houses all of the accessories you may need. These include:
- Air Filtration Mask
- Antibacterial Wipes
- Beanie Hat
- Chem lights
- Collapsible Water Pouch
- Duct Tape
- Emergency Whistle
- Fire Starter
- First Aid Kit – 50 piece
- HDPE Plastic panel x 2
- Heat Packs
- Power Charger w/ Radio – hand crack charge
- Survival Food Bars x 18
- Survival Knife
- Thermal Blanket
- Thermal Survival Tent
- Water Bottle
- Water Filter
- Water Syringe
Uncharted have worked hard to keep the pack as light as possible by only including what is needed, and those items that are have many uses.
Take the 2 x Plastic panels. A nothing item to most, probably wondering why they are listed. Well, when packed they are the spine for the internal pouch, but if needed they are easily removed and can be made in to a splint, a sling or even snow shoes.
Unsure how to do that with a plastic panel and some paracord? Dont’t worry, the Seventy2 has everything labelled and “How To” instructions printed in and on everything inside. The water bottle even includes measurement and guidelines on how much to consume.
The Seventy2 is now open to funding on Indiegogo. At the time of writing you can get the full pack for $275 + shipping, saving you $100 of the expected retail price.
