This weeks Round-Up Image comes from Sophie at SophieFuji.com, a personal lifestyle and travel blog, which takes us to Matera, Italy. This incredible, near monochrome landscape image was taken from the Matera and Sassi viewpoint.
This viewpoint overlooks one of two ‘Sassi’ in Matera. It’s full of cave homes, cave churches and more caves. It’s one of the oldest human settlements out there, with thousands of years of history. To this day, many locals live in the caves but there’s also a modern part, where the cranes are at the top. Matera is a beautiful place with a rich history and unique setting.
