As the bone-conducting and open-ear headphones started to become popular, I questioned whether they could ever be good enough to be the sole pair of headphones or earbuds a frequent traveller would need.

Both technologies’ audio quality has undoubtedly improved in recent years. While I don’t think either would perform as well as ANC earbuds or headphones, they can now serve the more active traveller who likes to run in a new city but needs to remain aware of their surroundings.

OneOdio is showcasing the OpenRock X in Las Vegas at CES 2025. This cutting-edge pair of open-ear headphones combines premium sound quality with a user-centric design for fitness enthusiasts and audiophiles.

Features OpenRock X

The OpenRock X earbuds are built on custom 14.2mm dynamic drivers, which feature nanometer bio-fibre and cis-molecular polymer materials. OneOdio claims this setup minimizes distortion and delivers rich, detailed audio.

Including OneOdio’s BassDirect™ bass acoustic cavity technology further enhances the listening experience, ensuring powerful bass without sound leakage.

The LISO 2.0 algorithm and HiFi 5 DSP technology for audiophiles provide a perfectly tuned audio profile. Whether you’re enjoying crisp highs or booming lows, every frequency will be reproduced with precision.

Including Spatial Sound via the OpenRock app provides a theatre-like experience, elevating both workouts and leisure time.

Crafted with luxury-inspired adjustable biaxial joints and soft liquid silicone ear hooks, the earbuds, which sit on the surface of the ear canal, promise stability and comfort for hours of wear. Additional features like a max volume limiter and over-time wear reminders keep safety and comfort in focus and are a great inclusion for younger ears.

With Bluetooth 5.3, the OpenRock X supports multipoint connections, allowing seamless switching between devices. The 12-hour battery life is further improved with the charging case.

The charging case for the OpenRock X, crafted from solid aluminium alloy, provides an additional 36 hours of power, delivering three full charges to the earbuds, ensuring they stay ready for use during extended activities.
