Apple Fall 2020 Event
Has it been 12 months already? Apple has now confirmed the date and time for its 2020 Fall event where it is widely expected to reveal the new iPhone 12 series and Watch 6.
And, as with many other big releases this year, it will be done on an all-digital platform due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
**EDIT: Apple has confirmed due to COVID-19 related challenges, there will be a delay to the iPhone 12 with more information to follow in October.
What to Expect
Ignoring the leaks and rumours doing the rounds online, the Apple Fall event is usually dominated by the next iPhone models.
⚬ News: Tooyn, the Last MacBook Charger You’ll Need?
This year we should be seeing a new 12 & 12 Pro phones, and hopefully 5G connectivity on at least one of them.
Last years 11 and 11 Pro were great devices, with the Pro Series proving popular thanks to the powerful triple lens camera. But since then Samsung has delivered the S20 and Note20, both incredibly powerful and desirable phones.
A New Watch, Maybe?
There is also a strong possibility that Apple will give us a new Watch, which should therefore be the Watch6. If they stick to the current naming convention.
Its predecessor, the Watch5 was easily my pick for Best Wearable on my 20 Best Travel Gadgets for 2020. But, again since then, there have been some newer devices that are giving any new Apple Watch food for thought.
Only last week at IFA in Berlin, Honor announced the GS Watch Pro, which if you’re an outdoor traveller will appeal more at half the price.
If you prefer a more stylish approach and switch between Android and iOS, the new Samsung Watch3 will have no doubt caught your eye too.
Even a New iPad
As with all previous Apple events, it’s maybe wise to not go out and buy a new device in the week and days leading up to one.
⚬ News: BentoStack Hub – Apple Owners New Best Friend?
There is a chance we may see a new iPad or iPad Air models announced. The Pro line up was refreshed back in April so is unlikely to see a new models at this event.
