Apple iPhone 14 Launch

It’s the highlight of the year for Apple fans and often sets the tone for the next 12 months in the smartphone market, a new iPhone release, and we now have the date confirmed.

On September 7th, Apple will unveil its latest iPhone series, most likely numbered 14, via live stream at apple.com, the Apple YouTube channel, and the Apple TV app. The event has been named ‘Far Out’.

What to Expect

The most likely device we will see on September 7th is a new iPhone 14 line-up. This will probably consist of a standard handset, a Pro and Pro Max version. However, there’s likely a question mark over a new Mini and if previous Mini’s have sold well.

That said, its new handsets usually come with a premium price tag, and Apple is about to launch when most countries are experiencing a cost of living crisis. With that in mind, a Mini model with a lower entry point might be what many consumers need this time.

Apple Watch Series 8 is also expected sometime this year and could also make an appearance. The wearable market has changed since the Series 7 with the Samsung Watch5 and, finally, Google Pixel Watch both making a splash this year.

Finally, many Apple fans are still holding out for the next generation of AirPods Pro. Initially released in 2019, the popular earphones have only had a minor refresh in 3-years, with the case getting a MagSafe upgrade.

Another sign we could soon be seeing an upgrade is the rare price cut AirPods Pro got during the recent Amazon Prime Day event. Was this a genuine one-off, or was Amazon making room for a new model?

Where & When

The Apple iPhone 14 launch event will be held on September 7th, 2022, in the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park. The great news is Apple is returning to in-person so that some media will be present.

Everyone can follow along at the times above on live stream at apple.com, the Apple YouTube channel or the Apple TV app.
