Hyundai | Uber Flying Car
Last year I reported on the Bell Nexus during CES 2019, a Hexacopter slated for a 2023 launch. Hyundai has upped the ante with its flying car which they began to share in December but has now made a show-stopping appearance at the LVCC this week.
Both Hyundai and Uber are claiming this concept flying car will be ready, and in use with the ride-sharing company, by the middle of this decade!
That means, along with Bell, we now have two companies confident they will have flying short-range people transporters for city use within the next 10 years.
The 8 rotor flying car has space for a pilot and 4 passengers, has a maximum range of 62 miles (100km) and a top cruise speed of 180mph.
Four of the 10.5ft rotors provide lift enabling the concept model to become an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle and at 35ft long needs only a 50ft Skyport to land on.
Samsung Galaxy Book S
This ultra-thin laptop from Samsung was first announced last year during its Unpacked event but has so far not been released. At CES 2020 they are letting attendees get hands-on and it could be a very popular device for travellers.
At only 960g in weight, Samsung has managed to cram plenty of technology into the Galaxy Book S including 4G LTE for always-on connectivity and up to 23 hours of battery life from a single charge.
It has a 13.3′ FHD 10 point multitouch TFT display, Windows 10 Home as standard and is powered by a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ processor.
The base model will have 256GB of storage but with an expandable storage slot, users can add an extra 1TB.
Samsung has still not confirmed a release date but they need to hurry up. Only this week, Lenovo launched a slightly thicker 5G connected YOGA book.
You can register with Samsung for updates.
