IFA 2019

Once again, this week the technology world will descend on Berlin, Germany for Europes biggest gadget show, IFA 2019, to cover all the news and new releases.

During previous years, IFA events have been good for travel tech fans. Back in 2017 came the 400GB Scandisk Ultra MicroSD card and last year Lenovo announced the Yoga C930 2-in-1.

The latter went on to be my pick for best all-round laptop in the {Tech} for Travel Best Travel Gadgets for 2019 guide.

So what could #IFA2019 have in store for us tech consumers this year?

If you plan on attending make sure to give yourself ample time. The event is huge and attracts big crowds so getting around to everything does take a few days.

IFA Travel Gadget Predictions

As smartphone makers continue the push for an audio port free world, the demand for wireless headphones continues. Last year Sony took everyone by surprise and delivered the WH-1000XM3 headphones.

These went on to knock Bose QC35 II of the top spot and deliver the best noise-cancelling headphones available for travellers.

Recently both Bose and Sony has released new headphones and earbuds but will either have something new in Berlin?

If you are a Sonos fan at home, you might be pleased to know the rumour mill is rife that the audio specialists are expected to launch a portable speaker this week!

Serious Smartwatches & Wearables at IFA

Another big growth area is the wearables market. In the lead up to this years event, Fitbit has announced the Versa 2 and Garmin the Fēnix 6 Series.

Both should be on display, but which other brands will be showing off a new device? There is a slim chance Apple might release a Series 5 Watch at their upcoming event on 10th September.

So if you are about to buy a new smartwatch or fitness tracker you should be spoilt for choice come the end of September!

All will be revealed over the coming days and {Tech} for Travel will cover all the travel related tech news on the site and Twitter.
