A whole month earlier than last year, thanks no doubt to the pandemic, Samsung has started to send out invites for its first Unpacked event of 2021.

Samsung Unpacked 2021

The first Unpacked is usually held in February around the start of MWC. However, last years MWC event was the first to fall of the calendar as the COVID-19 virus spread around the world.

For this year, GSMA the team behind the event has pushed #MWC2021 back to June, and it will be a mix of digital and in-person.

With this in mind, Samsung has instead picked the 14th Jan, which is this Thursday, and the final day of #CES2021, to launch the new Galaxy S21 range at the first Unpacked of 2021

Galaxy S21 Range

Despite MWC being cancelled in 2020, Samsung still managed to hold an in-person launch for the S20 This was the first full line up of 5G smartphones and was the big reveal.

So what does Samsung have in store this year?

I prefer to avoid the rumours online and wait for Samsung themselves to confirm, but I do think 2021 will be the year of the camera. Again.

While Samsung has always had the edge on the display front, the battle for the best cam is hotly debated. And, at present, the latest Apple iPhone 12 Pro is arguably out in front!

There will most likely be the same three model types following on from last year too, with a standard, a Plus and an Ultra handset.

Where & When

“Welcome to the Everyday Epic” which is the tag line Samsung is using for the first Unpacked of 2021 will be streamed online.

Over the past year, mobile technology has taken center stage in everyday life as people are working remotely and spending more time at home. The accelerated transition to a mobile-first world brings with it the need for devices that can transform everyday life into an extraordinary experience.
