IFA 2017: Lenovo YOGA 920

IFA 2017 showcases some of the best consumer technology on the market, and is used by many major brands as a platform for new product launches.  The event in Berlin begins with 2 days of media and keynote speeches before opening its doors to trade and general public visitors.  As the event unfolds I will bring you news of any travel related Tech.

Lenovo Yoga 920

With two new Yoga models launched at IFA this year, Lenovo continue their trend of using the event as a platform for their Flagship devices.  The entry-level 720 received some “under the hood” fine tuning, but the welcome news came in the form of the Yoga 920!

Replacing the current flagship 910 model, the 920 has both increased power and a reduction in size; the two things you would want improved on any upgrade!

Coming in a choice of Platinum, Bronze or Copper, three colours not normally associated with a high spec Business end machine, the 920 blurs the line between the office and multimedia categories.

The thickness has been reduced to further enhance the sleek outer design, while retaining the 13″ display.  The so-called “watchband” hinge returns and, to me, is the key component for setting the Yoga above other 2 in 1 Notebooks on the market today.  It is strong and sturdy enough to support the screen in Laptop mode yet allows for a change into tablet mode with minimal effort.  Convertible, or two in one, models such as the Yoga give travellers the flexibility of both Notebook and tablet in the same device.

Inside, the 920 has a power boost thanks to Intel’s 8th generation Quad core processor, a battery that can last up to 15 hours depending on the specification you opt for, and a finger print scanner for additional security!

Depending on your budget, you can increase the RAM (memory) to 16GB! That is a good amount if you will be using the Yoga to its full potential in a creative capacity along with the optional Active Pen 2.  Saving your work will not be an issue with storage options from 256GB to 1TB.

Specifications

The range will go on sale later in September with the basic model starting at €1599 and can be purchased direct from Lenovo.

And if all that is not enough, in December Lenovo will be releasing two Special Edition Star Wars versions of the 920.  No doubt to coincide with the release of the next Star Wars movie, The Last Jedi!

With a choice of either the Rebel Alliance or Empire colours/badges, these versions will start at €1899!
