News: Wolffepack Luna – A Parents Dream!

a close up of a backpack

This time last year, I was previewing the Wolffepack Summit; a day sack for skiers & Snowboarders.  While writing that preview I mentioned to a colleague that if Wolffepack were to design one for parents of babies/young toddlers, they would be on to a winner!

At the time, my twins were 3, and as any parent will tell you, having a well organised ‘baby bag’ when out & about or travelling, is vital!

From the front, you could mistake any of the Wolffepack Backpacks for any other, but you would be wrong.

Their revolutionary Wolffepack ‘swing’ system has now been incorporated into a baby focused Backpack, for the modern parent.

Features

The Wolffepack system is designed to bring the Backpack from your back to the front with just one hand; and without having to take it off.  The webbing stays on your torso, while the Backpack releases itself down, you then bring it up and clip it the front shoulder strap.

When you have finished, just lower the Pack and pull the handle and it returns to your back.  The handle and Wolffepack system is built into the shoulder strap, so will not get in the way when not in use.

Another design feature that stood out for me are the loop tidies.  On most Backpacks once you have fastened it you have 2 long nylon straps hanging down.  With the Luna, the loop tidies eliminate this issue.

Wolffepack could have stopped there and most parents would have been happy, but they have transformed the interior to help make baby travel easier.

The usual water bottle side pockets are now insulated to help keep the bottle warm or cold.  A main internal 20l segment for storage.  No matter how many purpose made pockets a bag has, when it comes to babies, space is key and 20l is a good amount!

If you ever needed proof this bag was designed by parents, you will find it on the shoulder straps where there are integrated buggy clips.  These provide an easier way to hang your backpack on a stroller instead of pulling the straps around and over.

Specifications

This is not just a bag for the kids.  Modern parents need space for their kit too!  At the rear of the main compartment there is a laptop or tablet pouch (up to 13″).  The front has a separate area for your belongings, and even a carabiner to hook your keys on!

Price

The Luna has been launched on Kickstarter, as had previous Wolffepack Backpacks.  There is currently 39 days of the campaign left and at time of writing the cheapest Luna option is £89 and shipping is expected to begin in March 2018.
