Father’s Day Gift Guide 2022

1. RIMOWA accessories rimowa.com

Beyond the signature groove styling, RIMOWA has a wide range of accessories to match its iconic cases, some of which are significantly cheaper and ideal as a gift.

If your dad is already a proud owner of a RIMOWA case such as the Original Cabin Carry-On, why not help accessorize it with a matching iPhone or AirPods case. Alternatively, personalize an already loved case with location stickers or a new luggage tag.

2. Edifier MP230 Portable Speaker edifier.com

If your dad enjoys a touch of refinement when away from home, the Edifier MP230 portable speaker offers a refreshing break from the generic sub $100 plastic casing speakers.

The retro design and colourway conceal dual 48mm drivers, a 2,600mAh battery delivering up to 10 hours of playback and goes beyond just a Bluetooth connection with support for Aux, microSD and Sound Card.

3. Function 101 BentoStack function101.com

BentoStack is for dads who insist on Apple-only devices. The entry-level organizer, modelled on the Japanese Bento Box idea, provides a secure home for all Apple accessories while travelling. There are dedicated compartments for cables, chargers (selected markets), AirPods, Watch straps and an iPhone stand.

However, the real beauty is that over time, the basic model can be added to with additional layers like the 8-port USB-C hub or the 5,000mAh portable power pack top cover with integrated wireless charging.

4. Caseborne getcaseborne.com

Smartphones are the centre of most dads’ digital lives and should be protected at all costs. Caseborne has a wide range of smartphone cases for most current Apple, LG, Motorola, OnePlus and Samsung handsets.

I’m entrusting the Vanguard, or V Series, case to protect my iPhone 13 Pro, and after two accidental drops, everything is still working as expected. An insider’s tip… the Orange and Blue cases look amazing!

Along with highly satisfying flat-lay images, Nomad Goods make Apple devices look better and recently topped the {Tech} for Travel list of the best accessory brand for Apple devices.

Some great gift items in the Nomad store are the wide selection of Watch straps and the new charging solutions on offer, including the Base One Wireless charger I recently reviewed.

Update: after publishing this list, Nomad launched a 20% off All Leather gear in its shop until 11:59 pm PST on Monday, June 13th

7. Sonos Roam sonos.com

Sonos is best known for at-home and indoor sound systems, but when the Roam was launched last year, Sonos gave us a way to take its superb audio experience on the road with us.

The Roam works with both Apple and Android devices, has 10-hours of power from a full charge and is even IP67 waterproof rated. Since the launch, Sonos has released three new colourways (pictured). So if dad has Sonos at home, the Roam portable speaker would be a welcome gift to travel with.

8. Twelve South twelvesouth.com

Twelve South find problems with tech and then fixes them with aesthetically pleasing and functional products. And its range is evenly split between travel and home use devices, so there is something for every dad.

A good example is the Compass Pro (review). This collapsable stand transforms a tablet into a workstation without needing a case, or the AirFly, which connects to the inflight screen on an aircraft and connects your wireless headphones.

    • I’m so impressed with Caseborne at the moment. I still use my own screen protector, but the V-Series protects the rest of my phone very well.
