News: Garmin Descent™️ Mk1

a close up of a watch

Garmin and certainly having a good year when it comes to releasing desirable, good-looking wearables.  If you have a keen Scuba diver in the family, they may have just sorted Christmas for you….. and the diver!

Garmin Descent™️ Mk1

This is not your standard fitness tracker or smartwatch! No.  What the Descent is, is a very sophisticated wrist mounted dive computer.  Sure you can use it as a watch, but with a price tag to back up the features, this one will be for the divers!

Features

Garmin claim the Descent is the first dive computer to include Surface GPS technology, so you can map your dive entry and exit points.  The GPS tracker does not work under the water, but there is a 3-axis compass which opens up during a dive with just a tap of the 1.2″ display.

The Descent also has space to store data for 10,000 dives so you can always review and share a great dive with others using the Garmin Connect App.  Available on Android, iOS and Windows, the App syncs your data to your smartphone or tablet and lets you share it with friends and other divers.

You can make use of the Connect IQ store, which is the home of Apps and Widgets for Garmin devices.  Therefore you can tone down the diving aspect and install some apps that makes the Descent a more, day-to-day, wearable.

Explore worlds of adventure with Descent™ MK1. It’s the first stylish dive computer to offer surface GPS navigation. The dive planner lets you prepare for your next dive. Choose modes for single and multiple gas dives (including nitrox and trimix), gauge and apnea.
