Circular Ring 2 will offer noninvasive blood pressure and glucose trend tracking, expanding its health monitoring tools with an OTA rollout starting in late 2025.
Circular Ring 2 Health Updates
Circular Ring 2 first made waves at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, where I awarded it a {Tech} for Travel CES Editors’ Choice Award for innovation in wearable health technology. Among a sea of smart rings and wristbands, Circular stood out with its sleek design, clever sizing tool, and a smart shift towards holistic well-being.
At the time, the standout features included sleep tracking, activity logging, heart rate monitoring, SpO₂, and a built-in vibration motor for alerts—all packed into a tiny form factor.
But what impressed me most was its proactive approach to giving users control over their data and delivering personalised insights, not just numbers.
BP & BG Trends Circular Ring 2
Circular has confirmed that blood pressure trend tracking will be added to Ring 2 through an OTA update in late 2025.
Unlike most wearables that rely solely on optical sensors, Circular combines ECG and PPG technology to deliver spot blood pressure readings using Pulse Transit Time (PTT).
This allows the ring to estimate how quickly blood moves through the arteries, offering a more accurate view of cardiovascular patterns directly from your finger without cuffs or additional devices.
The BP measurement will require a short reading between 30 seconds to 2 minutes. By timing how long it takes blood to travel between two sensor points, Ring 2 estimates systolic and diastolic pressure.
These readings won’t replace a medical device but will allow users to monitor daily and weekly trends.
In late 2026, another OTA update will add blood glucose trend monitoring, a considerable step for wearables that currently avoid this space. The system won’t replace clinical Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs). Still, it will offer trend-based insights using PPG sensors and machine learning models to detect changes in blood characteristics over time.
The goal is to help users understand how food, sleep, movement, and stress affect glucose patterns. A consistent two-minute measurement each morning can help build a meaningful picture of long-term metabolic health without finger-pricks or patches.
