IFA 2025: New Rokid Glasses Help Travellers Navigate, Translate, and Record

IFA 2023

IFA 2025 News

Rokid has been quietly building some of the most practical AR wearables around, and its latest effort, first seen at CES 2025, is now on show here at IFA 2025.

The named Rokid Glasses are a lightweight, camera-equipped pair of smart specs built with travel in mind. Navigation, translation, and hands-free video are the headline acts here, all in a form factor that barely tips the scales.

Designed to keep your hands free and your eyes on the journey, the Rokid Glasses combine three standout features that are particularly handy for solo explorers: real-time translation, navigation prompts, and hands-free first-person recording.

The glasses weigh just 49g, making them the lightest of their kind to offer this range of tools, and their design is discreet enough for all-day wear.

Powered by the Qualcomm AR1 platform, the Rokid Glasses project visuals through dual monochrome green Micro LED waveguide displays. These overlays appear at a virtual distance of over six metres, bright enough to read in full daylight.

The built-in 12MP Sony camera offers wide-angle stills and video with HDR and electronic stabilisation, making it ideal for quick travel snaps or content creation. Audio is delivered via dual directional speakers, and the 4-mic array includes AI-powered noise cancellation to ensure voice commands or calls are clearly heard. Voice control works with supported AI assistants, including ChatGPT when online, allowing for contextual queries or instant transcription on the go.

IFA 2025, running from 5–9 September at Messe Berlin, is Europe’s biggest annual consumer technology show. It’s a key date for travel-tech enthusiasts, where brands unveil new gadgets, smart luggage, and connected gear designed to make life on the move easier.

The event welcomes both industry and the public, offering hands-on time with products that could transform your next trip.

Travellers can follow turn-by-turn directions directly in their field of view without constantly reaching for a phone. At the same time, subtitles from the real-time translation tool appear in response to live conversations, helping bridge language barriers in busy city centres or transport hubs.

For those who wear prescription lenses, Rokid includes magnetically attached inserts that support both myopia and astigmatism.

They can be removed easily if you’re wearing contact lenses instead. It’s a thoughtful touch that adds to the glasses’ appeal as an everyday accessory.

Combined with the slim magnesium-aluminium build, the inserts make the device more versatile and comfortable to wear.
