Samsung Unpacked 2020
Samsung has confirmed the date for its first Unpacked event of 2020 will be on the 11th February. Although, this year, it’s not the first smartphone reveal of the year.
That happened during the Samsung keynote just before #CES2020 where they announced the S10 and Note10 Lite models. Both, more affordable versions of the Korean company’s current flagship devices.
What to Expect at Unpacked
Without paying attention to the numerous leaks and images, the first Unpacked of the year is often Galaxy S focused. This leaves the Fall event for the larger Note handsets.
The expectation is that the next Galaxy S will need some fairly big specs to help set the gap between it and the new Lite models which both appear to be good offerings and are expected to come with an attractive price tag.

My concern here is that if Samsung does drop some large updates to the range where will that place the price for its new flagship handset?
The S10 was very well priced, with just the 5G variant going over the $1,000 mark. But with Apple pushing its new Pro even further beyond that $1k barrier, will Samsung be tempted with its new S?
Don’t Forget the Fold
Amazingly, the Galaxy Fold is a year old already so could we see a new, or additional foldable from Samsung at its first Unpacked event of 2020?
The Galaxy Fold was the first big foldable announcement last year, just ahead of #MWC2019 and the Huawei Mate X. Yet it was Motorola who finished the year strongest with the RAZR.
If you want to watch the action as it happens there will be a live stream running on the Samsung site from 7pm London, 2pm New York, 11am LA.
