UGREEN HiTune T3 Earbuds Review: The buds & case are so well made for the price, but the audio experience, outside, leaves room for improvment.

UGREEN HiTune T3 Earbuds Review
UGREEN continues its surge of new travel-friendly tech with the HiTune T3 ANC Wireless earbuds.
Recently, UGREEN has focused on power solutions with some impressive chargers, including the 100W charger that made its way onto the {Tech} for Travel 2022 Best Travel Gadgets list.
My first encounter with HiTune earbuds was with the original UGREEN TWS buds, which to this day, I still recommend to anyone who asks me for a reasonable budget pair of earbuds.
So, I was keen to see how the HiTune T3 compared.
UGREEN HiTune T3 Earbuds Review// Features
The UGREEN HiTune T3 earbuds are in-ear but with a stem and come with a charging case, are powered by dual 10mm drivers and have three different listening modes.
No matter which platform you’re using, the HiTune T3 experience is the same on both Android and Apple devices, thanks to one-step pairing over Bluetooth v5.2.
Active Noise Cancelling is a must for travellers, and the T3’s, UGREEN claims, block out up to 25dB of external noise pollution.
UGREEN HiTune T3 Earbuds Review// Sound
I was blown away by the bass performance on these T3 earbuds. Each 10mm driver has Bass Boost technology that UGREEN claims “enhances bass by up to 40%”.
And they do this without distortion.
The 10mm PU+Wool driver unit offers powerful deep bass strong bass, mellow mids, and clear vocals.
UGREEN
The overall sound is deep and clear and an enjoyable experience that was only enhanced by the modes letting me adapt to my surroundings.
Listening Modes
ANC technology used to be for big-ticket headphones only but this tech is still just as good in the more budget-friendly earbud options like the HiTune T3.
UGREEN states the HiTune T3 earbuds block up to 25dB of external noise, and while that is not as much as others, it’s still noticeable and sufficient for an aircraft cabin.
When in Ambient mode, I found them to block a bit too much noise for my liking but worked well enough when I was out and about.
Apart from on a windy day, more on that below.
UGREEN HiTune T3 Earbuds Review// Design
As with all the other UGREEN devices I’ve tested, the budget-friendly pricing doesn’t mean low quality. Just the opposite, and the T3’s deliver on the stated 21 hours of playback.
I did try out the other modes during the review, the HiTune T3 earbuds are best enjoyed with ANC on
Although the high gloss black version does hold on to fingerprints, the charging case is sturdy and doesn’t feel cheap.
And the buds are as well made as to any premium stem style buds on the market; they even come with four different sized tips (XS, S, M, L) to help you get the best fit for your ear size.
The reason brands opt for the stem is to pack as much of the technology in and keep it outside of the ear. However, this does come with a downside.
Wind Noise
When used outside on a breezy day or while jogging, the wind moving over the surface of the stem is heard in the bud. I moved between all three modes, and it was present in all of them.
I’ve experienced this on nearly every earbud I’ve tested with stems and had similar experiences with all of them except the AirPods.
It’s noticeable with the UGREEN HiTune T3 earbuds but by no means the worst I’ve had.
At the gym, indoors on a video conference, and even when travelling, they perform as expected; very well.
