App in the Air Rolls Out COVID Travel Updates
Borders are beginning to open, travellers are flying again and staying ahead of the new rules will prove difficult. Thankfully, App in the Air has just released an update adding in COVID Health Tools onto your bookings!
If you’re unfamiliar with App in the Air, it’s a travel assistant app that walked away with my Best Travel assistant App for 2020 this year.
Back in April, they offered a free trial to its premium service….and they even invited me to join them for a chat on IGTV!
What’s New
The new filters within the App keep you informed on the latest developments with airlines, hotels and border controls.
Each of your trips within App in the Air shows a travel recommendation banner. This delivers the latest COVID Health news and tools straight to your booking screen.

Once you go into your trip a more detailed and tailored sectioned called “What do I need for this trip?” will appear.
Predictability and preparation, from knowing what is needed ahead of the trip such as: the necessity of a completed health declaration form, to understanding specific airline cancellation policies, will help our app users returning to the skies have better experiences.

Tapping into this, the AI-powered App pulls the relevant information for the countries your booking covers and the airlines you’ll be travelling with. It delivers them in a pop up with links that take you directly to the government or airlines site with the latest news.

If you’re only at the early stages of planning some travel then the new booking feature with health filters will be helpful in securing the travel experience you’ll feel comfortable with at this time.
Whilst finding the best flights at a price you want, the App in the Air COVID Health Tools have been included in the filter system.
Just enter your flight requirements as normal and then choose if you only want to see search results from airlines that block the middle seat, or enforce face masks.

And, if in-app isn’t enough, App in the Air has launched a mini-site for quick point-to-point information for travellers.
Navigate to https://covid.aita.travel/, ideally from a notebook, and you’ll discover a simple yet detailed view on point to point travel.

It’s continually updated as governments change their own rules. There’s also support for airlines and the restrictions they place on travel with them.
