The popular travel management app App in the Air is officially shutting down, marking the end of an era for its frequent flyer user base. The company announced the news on its website, stating that “after years of helping travellers manage flights, hotels, and trips,” the app would no longer be available from tomorrow, Thursday, September 19th, 2024.
Known for offering detailed flight tracking, airport tips, and loyalty points management, it had become a go-to solution for travel enthusiasts seeking streamlined travel experiences.
In previous years, the app has topped my Best Travel Gadgets guide for several years, most recently in 2022.
Despite its popularity, the decision to close App in the Air was influenced by shifting business dynamics and a focus on new opportunities. The team behind the app, some of whom I had collaborated with on social channels and found to be a great team, expressed gratitude to its loyal users and acknowledged the significant role their feedback played in shaping the platform’s evolution.
“If you recently purchased a subscription from App in the Air, you may be eligible for a refund. All refunds will be managed via the app store you used to make your purchase.”
Users are encouraged to export their data before the service completely ceases on October 19th, 2024, to ensure they retain access to all past travel information.
