JLab has followed on from its exceptional and affordable Lux ANC Headphones launched last year with the new JLab Epic Lux Lab Edition Headphones, which promise to combine immersive sound, 90+ hours of playtime, and AI-powered noise cancellation for unmatched listening.

The Epic Lux Lab Edition is the San Diego brand’s first venture into Adaptive Active Noise Cancelling (AANC) technology.

Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) blocks external sounds by generating “anti-noise” waves, which is ideal for steady environments like aeroplanes or offices.

Adaptive ANC takes this further by dynamically adjusting to changes in noise levels, ensuring consistent cancellation in unpredictable settings. While ANC offers fixed performance, Adaptive ANC provides a smarter, real-time response suited for users constantly moving between different environments.

These headphones aim to satisfy audiophiles and everyday listeners alike. At a price point that puts them up there with some other market-leading headphones, the Epic Lux Lab Edition will need to deliver.

At the heart of the Epic Lux Lab Edition are 32mm high-fidelity custom dynamic drivers designed to deliver Hi-Res audio with stunning clarity. With a frequency range of 20 – 20 kHz, users can enjoy everything from deep bass to intricate treble.

To enhance the listening experience further, JLab’s Lab Spatial Audio algorithm provides immersive 360-degree sound with head-tracking technology. JLab says these are their “best-sounding over-ear headphones ever,” and with the addition of Spatial Audio, they deliver unmatched clarity for music, podcasts, or video content.

For the first time, JLab integrates Adaptive Active Noise Cancelation (AANC) into their headphones, taking noise reduction to the next level. This technology automatically detects and filters out background noise in real time, reducing environmental sounds by up to 35 dB.

The Be Aware Mode adds flexibility by letting users blend outside sounds with their audio. Ideal for phone calls or staying alert while listening to music.

JLab ensures crystal-clear communication with four beamforming microphones and an advanced environmental noise-cancelling algorithm. These microphones isolate your voice while reducing ambient sounds, making the headphones perfect for taking calls.

JLab highlights that the microphones deliver exceptional clarity for voice calls even in challenging environments, such as windy outdoor conditions.

The headline-grabbing number is the battery life of the Epic Lux Lab Edition. With 60+ hours of playtime when ANC is on and 90+ hours with ANC off, these headphones are built for extended use, making them ideal for many travellers.

For added convenience, JLab includes a magnetic wireless charging pad that delivers 5 hours of playtime with just 5 minutes of charging. A built-in USB-C port also ensures fast and reliable charging options when needed.

The headphones, crafted with comfort in mind, feature Cloud Foam™ ear cups and a padded headband, ensuring all-day wearability. Their foldable design enhances portability, making them easy to pack.

Bluetooth Multipoint Technology will allow seamless pairing with two devices simultaneously, while the LabShare Mode lets users share audio with another LUX headphone. Additional features like Google Fast Pair and Find My Device functionality ensure a hassle-free user experience.

The JLab app will offer customisable options for noise cancellation, sound profiles, and touch controls. Users can choose between preset sound profiles like JLab Signature, Balanced, Bass Boost, or fine-tune settings to suit their preferences.
