From Jan 8th-11th in the Nevada desert, the annual CES Tech trade show returns to Las Vegas. This is the largest tech event in the world and has more new product launches than any other.
Now in its 52nd year, {Tech} for Travel will be pacing the halls, booths and displays to bring you all the news from the biggest brands.
Day 1 Round-Up
Lenovo had a huge 2018, with significant product launches throughout the year. So how could they build on that this year?
Well, they already made it into the {Tech} for Travel 2019 Best Gadget Guide and on the opening day of #CES2019 they launched a range of new devices, with several ideal for travelling!
Lenovo Yoga S940 Ultra Slim Laptop
If portability is top of your list when purchasing a notebook then the Yoga S940 is worth a look. The new ultra-slim laptop is just 12.2mm thick and weighs only 1.2kg!
The contoured glass edges give the thin bezel display a great look and feel but it’s what was inside that impressed me. Lenovo Smart Assist has the ability to provide real-time translation when having a voice conversation!
I’m still to test this feature, but with more of us making calls over the internet this could be very beneficial! And that’s not all for video calls on the S940. The IR camera provides a portrait mode type view when in use for a video conference, blurring out the background and keeping the focus on you!
Lenovo Yoga S940 will start from $1499 and go on sale in May 2019.
Lenovo Smart Tab P10
If you’re a tablet only traveller, the new P10 may be of interest. Encased in a toughened glass shell and wrapped in a metal frame it houses 4 front facing speakers designed to deliver a better media experience.
It has an Android Operating System, expandable memory slot for additional storage and a NANO SIM port for Cellular connectivity and boasts up to 15 hours of playback battery power.
However, it’s when you get home that the P10 begins to impress. As standard, the tablet comes with a Smart Dock that when the P10 is attached creates a Smart Screen hub. The dock has 3 additional speakers, and with Alexa built-in, Lenovo have done to tablets what Nintendo achieved with the Switch!
Lenovo Smart Tab P10 will be $299 and Preorders will begin in Jan.
