It’s the start of a new year and therefore time for the consumer tech world to head out to Las Vegas. CES 2020 runs from 7th until 10th Jan and {Tech} for Travel is here to dig out all the best travel gadget related news and launches.

There was a notable shift towards truly wireless across all headphone brands this year at CES 2020. Shure used the event to launch its first-ever truly wireless Noise Cancelling headphones, the AONIC 50.

Designed for travelling, these have the potential to become very popular indeed. They were comfortable to wear, offer around 20 hours of playback and when I switched from Environment to Noise Cancelling mode I was very impressed.

At the base on each cup is a port for a wired connection should you get caught short. But, unlike other headphones that have either a 3.5mm Audio or USB-C, the AONIC 50 has both.

The AONIC 50 Noise Cancelling headphones are set to be released in Spring 2020 and the price is TBC.

Best of the Best

2020 has been a great year at CES for Travel Gadget and technology but my pick for the Best at the show has to go to the Delta Parallel Reality Journey.

I first mentioned it on Day 1 of CES 2020 having attended the keynote by Delta CEO Ed Bastian. On the final day, I visited the Delta booth for a hands-on test of this new technology.

Delta is building this with Misapplied Sciences and are currently on version 2, which is what I tested. Through conversations on the stand, there could be a newer version by the beta period this summer at Detroit.

I will run a special covering my experience with Delta’s vision of how airports will work in the near future and how Parallel Reality is not only here, but a game-changer!
