Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker II

The original SoundLink Mini speaker from Bose had been the market leader in portable speakers for quite some time.  Therefore with the Mini II it was more an upgrade rather than an all-new speaker.

In short, Bose made the best, better!

Once Dad has synced his Bluetooth device to the speaker he can stream music from up to 30ft away.

The small, light unit delivers that legendary Bose sound that will not leave anyone disappointed, even if the choice of your dad’s music does!

The battery can deliver around 10 hours of playback and other features include hands-free calling with the built-in mic and a 3.5mm aux port to attach devices directly.

The SoundLink Mini II comes in Pearl (Gray) and Carbon (Black) both priced at £169.

Anker SoundCore 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker

I have somewhat of a soft spot for Anker products at the moment.  I have started using some of their power cables and external battery packs and everything from the packaging to the products themselves are always of the highest quality.

The SoundCore 2 is a slightly bigger and more rugged speaker compared to the Bose, but it serves a different purpose.

The Anker is made for real outdoor use.  The IPX5 rating means it is water resistant and the rubber out rim, with smooth buttons makes it easier to handle.

The battery life from a single charge is an amazing 24 hours, although that will vary, a lot!  The SoundCore also has the latest Bluetooth technology meaning your dad can connect it to devices up to 66ft away from the speaker.

Anker sell their products via Amazon.  The SoundCore 2 comes in black and is £35.

Sony SRS-X11

If you can look past the name, Sony still like to use product codes, this cubed Bluetooth speaker from Sony is a great deal.

This tiny speaker will save dad space in his luggage but enable him to bring that big brand sound with him, where ever he goes.

The sound focuses on delivering a deeper base which is impressive given the size and set up is easy with easy Bluetooth NFC One-Touch technology.

Charing is supplied via Micro USB and once fully charged the SRS-X11 will provide around 12 hours of playback.

The Sony Cube comes in 5 different colours, Black, White, Blue, Red and Pink.  All are £69.

B&O Play BEOLIT 17

If a style is just as important as great sound to your dad then B&O are the brand for him.

The Beolit 17 is one of the new types of portable speakers that offer true 360 sound.  The listening experience is the same regardless of where you are in regards to the speakers location.

Wrapped in an aluminium grill and finished with a leather strap for carrying, this is one of the most effortlessly stylish speakers on the market.

As with other B&O Play speakers, the Beolit can be configured to your dads personal taste via the custom made app (Android | iOS) and can keep going for up to 24 hours!

The Beolit 17 comes in Stone Gray and Natural (light Gray) and costs £449.

UE Boom2

If, you want a little bit of each of the above all rolled up into a single speaker then UE has you covered.
