Targus HeritageLuxe Backpack

Targus has been in the tech game for over four decades, keeping laptops protected and work setups portable long before it was the norm. Trusted by Fortune 1000 companies and recognised for its universal docks and rugged bags, it’s a brand built around one mission: ensuring your gear keeps up, wherever work takes you.

Its latest luggage piece has launched, and it’s a premium backpack aimed squarely at executives who travel frequently and rely heavily on technology.

The HeritageLuxe Backpack brings together smart protection, subtle tech upgrades, and refined design details to help busy professionals stay organised, protected, and ready for anything.

And if the press shots are anything to go by, the Targus HeritageLuxe might just be one of the best-looking backpacks to launch this year.

Features Targus HeritageLuxe Backpack

At the core of the HeritageLuxe Backpack is a laptop compartment that uses the company’s patent-pending SafePort SafeSling system, which activates on impact and is tested to protect devices from drops of up to 3.2 feet.

The compartment, which supports laptops up to 16″, is padded and structured. At the same time, an expandable main area features the FlexDivider system, which allows users to separate and access items from the bottom of the bag. Alongside this is a dedicated tablet compartment and a removable tech accessory pouch that helps with organising cables and chargers.

Inside the backpack are multiple stash pockets, including one for a battery pack, another with RFID blocking built in, and a dedicated slot to hold a location tracker such as AirTag or Tile (not included). A smart inclusion is the patented retractable USB-C connector, mounted on the side, which connects internally to your own power bank, allowing for discreet charging of devices while on the go.

Using insights and experiences from real executives, we’ve incorporated the features and finishes they desired and needed most – details that stand up to the daily rigors and the ever-changing needs of a busy leader.

Externally, the bag features ergonomic shoulder straps and a padded back panel with ventilation channels to minimise heat buildup. A pass-through trolley strap allows the bag to be secured over rolling luggage handles. There’s also a retractable luggage tag holder which folds neatly into the body of the bag.

The top handle is reinforced and wrapped for extended carrying. Leather detailing is included across the zipper pulls and accent panels.

The backpack is made from recycled materials, including polyester, which Targus claims is equivalent to 21 plastic bottles. It is free of PVC, and the internal lining is soft and textured to help prevent scratches on sensitive devices. The stitching and trim are designed to remain subtle with tone-matched logos and minimal visible branding. It is available in both navy blue and black colourways.

Targus has intentionally ensured the layout is symmetrical to help distribute weight evenly, and the structure keeps the backpack upright when placed on the ground.

Every compartment is designed for executive use, from discreet storage to device accessibility, ensuring it suits both boardrooms and airport lounges. The result, Targus says, is a premium backpack that has everything modern executives need to carry, connect, and protect their technology and gear in style with convenience and peace of mind.
