Now, RIMOWA is extending that legacy into everyday carry with the launch of the Original Backpack, a bag that reimagines its hallmark aluminium construction for life beyond the cabin. Positioned as both a functional travel companion and a design piece, the backpack brings the aesthetic of the iconic Original suitcase line to a new format, one aimed at the modern traveller who expects both durability and elegance.

The RIMOWA Original Backpack debuts in silver anodised aluminium, giving it the same robust shell as the brand’s flagship luggage. While the outer shell will provide that unrivalled RIMOWA durability, comfort has not been overlooked.

The breathable padded back and adjustable shoulder straps, finished in nylon webbing with leather trimming, have been designed for extended daily use. Hardware across the bag is finished in a shiny palladium coating, enhancing the luxury appeal of the backpack while ensuring RIMOWA quality in every detail.

Drawing straight from its suitcase DNA, the backpack features a secured closing system inspired by the Original range’s locks, giving valuables an added level of security. On the outside, a hidden magnet-sealed pocket offers quick access to smaller travel essentials such as documents or a phone.

Completing the outside is a luggage sleeve on the back that slides over a suitcase handle, locking the bag and case together so airport runs feel less like a balancing act.

Inside, the layout has been designed to balance organisation with flexibility. A removable divider doubles as a laptop compartment capable of holding devices up to 16 inches, while built-in pockets provide space for accessories.

A separate zipped pouch is also included, giving users the ability to keep smaller or delicate items apart from the main storage area.

Visually, it is unmistakably a RIMOWA. The brushed aluminium, the grooves, and the engineered look all mirror the Original and Classic carry-ons.
