Away from Black Friday and the usual seasonal discounts, this is the sale most look forward to, and Amazon Prime Day 2022 has been confirmed.

Prime Day is always a great sale to get a bargain, buy a gift or treat yourself to a new gadget. However, this year, I’m expecting/hoping/counting on big deals on travel gadgets and luggage.
The world has been pretty much stationary during covid leading to a downturn in travel tech and the need for luggage.
Now people are starting to go places again, Business travel is back on, and airlines are reporting rocketing ticket sales, almost matching pre-pandemic bookings; there will be strong demand for the latest tech and cases.
What to Look For
While any guesses at this point are pure speculation, there are a few categories and items I’m keeping my eye on as we go into Amazon Prime Day 2022.
First up is luggage. This category would have seen sales drop, and now would be the perfect time to move the surplus stock. Amazon sells cases from American Tourister, TravelPro, Tumi, Samsonite and many others, along with Backpacks by SwissGear.
Electronics are always big-ticket purchases in most sales events, and Prime Day is no different. Ahead of Prime Day starting, I like to look up devices I’d be interested in for the right price.
This year there is one gadget I’m keeping a close eye on, the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones.
These are excellent headphones for travelling with but have recently been replaced by the newer WH-1000XM5 headphones, which are unlikely to see any significant price drop this year.
Whilst the new XM5’s are a better specification, if the XM4 headphones drop by around $100 or more, these will be the best purchase of the event.
Where & When
Amazon Prime Day 2022 will start on July 12 at 3 a.m. EDT and runs through July 13th. On these dates, the Prime event will be available in the following countries:
Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweeden, the U.K., and the U.S.
Ahead of the event starting, shoppers based in the US can earn $60 in Prime Day credits, collect stamps to earn $10 credit and earn up to $10 in Prime Day Credit when shopping now for Disney Pixar Lightyear movie tickets or merchandise.
