Built for –30°C and rough stopovers, the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 pairs preloaded maps with a green night-vision goggle torch mode, plus turn-by-turn routing.

Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2
Some may view Amazfit as the more budget-friendly option for those not wanting to invest in a Garmin, but the more I test and use its smartwatches, the more I’m leaning toward the idea that they’re a smarter investment.
Every model has exceptional build quality; the list of features is always growing, especially if you’re part of the HYROX crowd, and, as I’ve said before, the user interface is second to none.
Almost all smartwatch brands offer rugged “go anywhere” models, but Amazfit is putting the spotlight on a very practical trio for the T-Rex Ultra 2: preloaded maps, precise navigation, and long battery life.

Features Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2
The Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 is aimed at people who want navigation and battery life to hold up when phone signal isn’t available. Amazfit describes it as “Created for extreme adventure seekers and long-distance explorers, where durability and self-sufficiency become essential for survival.”
The Ultra 2 includes preloaded maps stored on the watch, which, Amazfit says, you can choose the region you want in the Zepp app, then view colour mapping on-wrist without needing a network connection. It also says the watch supports free topographic maps, with additional options, such as contour and ski slope maps, available for download.
T-Rex Ultra 2 supports turn-by-turn directions, route planning, POI searching, and automatic re-routing if you drift off course. It’s also where the watch’s pitch gets most specific, because Amazfit has included offline point-to-point route planning on a smartwatch, with colour maps designed to help you follow a route when there’s no data to fall back on.

Amazfit has built-in support for six satellite systems, including GPS and Galileo, for fast, precise navigation. Dual-band support is also part of the spec, with the watch designed to be reliable in challenging environments.
One of the more unusual details is the built-in light.
Amazfit says the Ultra 2 has a dual-mode flashlight with adjustable brightness, including a white beam rated at 200 lux, plus a green light for night-vision goggles, intended to reduce interference and keep the screen readable when the night-vision kit is in use.
There’s an SOS mode and a Boost mode that triggers a brighter 300-lux flash. Even if you never use night-vision gear, a wrist torch and SOS option are still practical extras for campsites, power cuts, or finding your way around a dark rental without waking everyone up.
As with most other Amazfit smartwatches, the battery life will be incredible. Amazfit says the Ultra 2 can last up to 30 days on a single charge, powered by an 870 mAh battery. Different modes, such as sport mode active, navigation enabled, Always-on Display on, maximum GPS accuracy, and in sub-zero temperatures, will reduce this, though.

Amazfit
The T-Rex Ultra 2 is the most advanced member of the Amazfit T-Rex lineup, embodying the ethos of power, endurance, and exploration. Crafted for those who live where the map ends, who chase horizons few dare to follow, and who rely on their gear as much as their grit, the T-Rex Ultra 2 is purpose-built for adventure.
Amazfit also states the watch remains functional down to –30°C. On the hardware side, the Ultra 2 features a 1.5-inch AMOLED display protected by sapphire glass, with peak brightness of 3,000 nits for readability in intense light.
The case back, bezel, and four buttons are made from Grade 5 titanium, chosen for strength while keeping the watch’s size close to that of earlier models.
Another area where Amazfit often beats the competition is sports tracking, and the Ultra 2 doesn’t disappoint with support for 170+ sports modes and monitoring of training and recovery metrics, including fatigue trends across different time windows.
Amazfit also points to its Zepp app for additional features and add-ons, as well as to its accessories, such as the Helio Strap or Helio Ring, for expanded tracking.
Storage has been increased to 64GB, and the European version supports NFC payments.
