Passengers can now enjoy free, high-speed WiFi across every cabin as Air France Starlink begins rolling out fleetwide, setting a new standard for in-flight connectivity.

Air France Starlink Roll Out
Air France has long been known for its refined service and attention to comfort, but the airline is now turning its focus skyward with the introduction of free, high-speed WiFi.
Partnering with Starlink, the satellite network built for low-Earth orbit connectivity, Air France is rolling out fast, stable internet on board. It’s a first for a major European carrier and signals a wider digital shift for the French flag carrier’s fleet.
Announced in autumn 2024, the Air France Starlink programme is already live. Four aircraft are connected so far, two Embraer 190s and two Airbus A220s, and just recently, an Airbus A350 has joined the mix.
That step brings Starlink to Air France’s long-haul network for the first time.
Air France plans to have about 30 per cent of its fleet connected by the end of 2025, with full coverage coming by 2026 as the rollout gathers pace. As the airline put it, it’s “the first major European airline to offer such a service on board.”
Best of all, the service is completely free in every cabin. Passengers log in using their Flying Blue account, the Air France–KLM loyalty programme. Those without an account can create one on board in a matter of minutes. It’s quick, and for most people, it’s all they’ll need.
During the transition, Air France will keep its current internet options on aircraft not yet fitted with Starlink. Flying Blue members will still get a free “messaging” pass, while broader browsing and streaming remain paid extras.
La Première customers, meanwhile, connect directly without logging in; no extra steps are needed there.
Starlink’s system uses a web of satellites orbiting closer to Earth than older networks, which cuts delay and improves stability. The connection is fast and secure enough for streaming video, following live news, or even gaming mid-flight.
By offering this service free to everyone, Air France joins a small but growing set of airlines that treat connectivity as a standard amenity rather than a premium extra. In practice, this means staying in touch, checking emails, or streaming a show without interruption. It’s also part of the airline’s continuing “move upmarket” plan to refine every stage of the passenger journey. Whether on a quick hop to Amsterdam or a long flight to Tokyo, Air France wants the experience to feel modern, connected, and just a little effortless.
The rollout is still young, so availability depends on the aircraft and route. Air France says coverage will expand across the network, but the detailed schedule remains unknown for now. Even so, the direction is clear. This partnership puts Air France ahead of most European rivals when it comes to in-flight connectivity. Free, high-speed WiFi is now reaching European carriers!
