JBL Tour Pro 2 Earbuds
JBL has just announced two new wireless headphones, the Tour Series, comprising of the over-ear Tour One M2 headphones and the Tour Pro 2 earbuds.
The latter not only delivers the audio experiences expected of a premium-priced pair of buds but also brings all of the essential controls to the charging case in the form of a small touchscreen display.
And, along with competing price-wise with the AirPods Pro, these new JBL earbuds should match on performance with Spatial Audio included.

Coming in either Black or Champagne, the JBL Tour Pro 2 earbuds house 10mm driver units and offer True Adaptive Noise Cancelling, JBL Spatial Audio and Personal Sound Amplification for clearer voice calls.
The Tour Pro 2 has six microphones in total, with four of them being noise-sensing mics that provide the ANC and work with the JBL App (Android | iOS) to adjust the levels to suit each user’s needs with Smart Ambient mode.
Spatial Sound is surround Sound in a much smaller form than several speakers spread around your TV at home. JBL says its Spatial Sound on the Tour Pro 2 is “like being in a theatre, at a concert or in the studio with your favourite artist“.
The unique smart charging case allows you to direct access all key earbuds features without using the smartphone App. All App features are accessible via the smart case even from nonsmartphone devices, such as laptops, PCs, TVs etc.

Look on Amazon at earbuds under $50, and you’ll find plenty of earbud charging cases with some form of display on them, but few have the pedigree and audio experience that JBL can deliver, nor look as smart as what the Tour Pro 2 offers.
At 1.45″ diagonally across, the touchscreen display brings all of the standard earbud controls to the front of the case and many of the key controls from the JBL app (Android | Apple).
The case has a USB-C at the base for wired charging and will wirelessly charge on any Qi wireless charging pad (not included).
Power & Performance
From a full charge, which will take 2 hours from flat, JBL says the Tour Pro 2 buds will deliver up to 6 hours of playback with True Adaptive Active Noise cancelling turned on.
The Charging case can hold 24 hours of power for ANC playback resulting in up to 30 hours of ANC playback.
This performance increases up to 10 hours with ANC off.
Sadly there are a couple of features missing that some users could expect for a premium-priced pair of buds. There’s no Multiconnection, so users need to disconnect & connect between devices, such as to answer a call on a smartphone while watching a movie on a tablet.
And the lack of Automatic Ear Detection means the earbuds will not know when they’ve been removed from the ear and will continue to play. But, if you can look beyond these minor setbacks, the JBL Tour Pro 2 earbuds, on paper, appear to be a solid pair of buds.
