On August 10th, during its second Unpacked of 2022, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 was announced and boasted a new photography mode; FlexCam.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4
As Samsung reaches the 4th generation of its foldable devices, consumers need more than just a flexible display. The Z Flip4 has some neat new features and continues to evolve in design.
And, in a refreshing twist, if you don’t like any of the four colourways, the new Z Flip4 comes in, then the Bespoke Edition is for you. Samsung will let you build and configure your Z Flip4 with a choice of five body colours and three different frame options to choose from.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4// Features
Powered by the Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1, the 4th Generation of Z Flip looks leaner and more refined thanks to the slimmer hinge mechanism while boasting a more considerable 3,700mAh battery.
There’s now support for Super Fast Charging, giving a 50% charge in 30 minutes, which will be needed when that excellent and big 6.7″ AMOLED flex display with 120Hz refresh rate is used for gaming or a movie over 5G.
The primary camera has had a welcome upgrade to a 50MP and 30x Space Zoom lenses and is 23% brighter sensor and enhanced processing power, Samsung says.
Flexcam
Samsung has aimed the Flip4 at content creators and those who use the front-facing camera on the phone just as much as the one on the rear!
Thanks to its foldable display Galaxy Z Flip4 doesn’t need a complicated case or additional tripod to be attached to stand upright. Flexcam mode uses the angles the phone can get itself into to help catch the perfect photo.
Even better, the smaller external display turns into a viewfinder, so the more powerful rear cam doubles as a selfie cam.
The Z Flip4 Flex mode can reach angles between 75° and 115° and supports Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook.
Z Flip4 is crafted to go truly hands-free – doing more without ever opening the phone. Make calls, reply to texts, unlock the car and even control the SmartThings Scene widget, all from the Cover Screen.

New Inside & Out
With the focus on the handset being folded in half, the more refined and cleaner edges of the casing hide a much larger 6.7″ main display. To support this, the Z Flip4 is the first smartphone to ship with the Android 12L OS.
This new OS from Google is designed specifically for foldable and larger displays and to optimize their user experience.
