Zendure MIX GO Power Bank & Charger
Being able to cut back on the gadgets we travel with is not always a bad thing, which is what Zendure hopes to achieve with its new MIX GO Power Bank and Charger for travellers.
Zendure had a big hit last year with travellers thanks to the SuperMini which also went on to win a place on my 20 Best Travel Gadgets for 2020!
Features
This 2 in 1 power solution combines a wall charger for USB-C powered laptops and tablets with a portable power bank for when you are on the move.
When it’s in wall socket mode, any device powered over USB-C can be charged in over 100 different countries thanks to the interchangeable charging prongs.
Wall Charger Mode
The MIX GO has a single maximum output 45W USB-C power delivery port which is capable of fully charging a MacBook in around 2.5 hours. Bigger more power-hungry laptops will take longer.
When using both ports in charger mode, the USB-C drops to a maximum 30W of power and the USB-A has the remaining 15W. As an example, this would cover most ultra-thin laptops and a tablet simultaneously.
To the front is a detachable power prong that can be swapped over to suit the country you are in. Only the US prongs fold in on themselves for easy storage.

With the UK/EU/AU adapters you will want to remove them if you are using the MIX GO in power bank mode as they do stick out on either side of the pack.
Power Bank Mode
Inside, the Zendure MIX GO Travel Charger has a 5,000mAh power bank that can deliver the same 45W maximum charging to your devices when you are on the go.
Now a 5,000mAh capacity battery is not the biggest on the market, nor will it last long if you are needing to charge up a laptop but the MIX GO does support fast charging.
This will give most flagship smartphones a 50% charge in just 30 minutes, which is what most of us want from a power bank anyway.
More Tech than a Standard Charger
As with its Passport GO travel adapter, Zendure has utilised GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology to improve the efficiency of the MIX GO.
In power converters, GaN semiconductors run at a higher efficiency, produce less heat, and tolerate higher current compared to traditional silicon-based approaches.

There’s support for low power devices such as earbuds or smartwatches that require only a small power output for charging.
Specifications
I was lucky enough to have a sneak peek at the Zendure MIX GO during CES 2020.
In the hand, it has the same premium look and feel of other Zendure products and would take up the same space in my bag as my current MacBook Pro charger.
The charge time would be slightly longer admittedly, as the Pro needs more than the 45W output. But, with a battery pack built-in, this is a great device for power-hungry travellers.
