HONOR Magic7 Pro Review
When the Magic7 Pro was launched in China at the end of 2024, all Android fans patiently waited for HONOR to announce further rollouts. That good news came just a few months later, in January, and now I can finally write the HONOR Magic7 Pro review as this feature-packed smartphone becomes available in the UK and other selected markets.
Fans of the last generation will be happy to learn HONOR hasn’t sat back on its success with the Magic6 Pro with an upgrade to the processor, the latest silicon carbon battery technology, removed the vegan leather back cover for a more professional-looking glass case and has even added protection to that stunning display with a NanoCrystal Shield.
The Magic7 Pro is slightly bigger than its predecessor but slimmer overall by 0.1 mm and a couple of grammes lighter, even with a higher-capacity battery unit and the same display size.

Features HONOR Magic7 Pro Review
The HONOR Magic7 Pro is a high-performance smartphone driven by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, ensuring smooth multitasking and fast performance for demanding apps.
The 6.8″ OLED display promises to deliver sharp visuals with vibrant colours, making it well-suited for productivity and media consumption.
The AI Falcon Camera System features a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP wide-angle lens, and a 200MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The AI Super Zoom function provides clarity at up to 100x magnification. At the same time, advanced shooting modes like AI Motion Sensing Capture and HD Super Burst allow users to capture dynamic scenes precisely.

Durability and battery performance are standout features. With IP68 and IP69 ratings, the Magic7 Pro is protected against dust, water, and even high-pressure sprays. Its 5,270mAh silicon-carbon battery supports 100W wired and 80W wireless HONOR SuperCharge, achieving a full charge in just 33 minutes.
The HONOR Magic7 Pro boasts advanced connectivity and location features, including Wi-Fi 7 compatibility (with a compatible router), dual-band Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo support. It also has an under-display fingerprint reader, a gyroscope and acceleration sensor for motion tracking, a compass for navigation, and ambient light and proximity sensors to optimise display brightness and usability.
HONOR will launch the device in three colours: Lunar Shadow Grey, Breeze Blue, and Black. HONOUR has committed to offering five years of software updates to ensure long-term usability.

Hardware Quality HONOR Magic7 Pro Review
HONOR sent over the Lunar Shadow Grey handset for this review, and I’m glad they did. I love this colourway!
As someone who has become increasingly bored with these generic black rectangles we all stare at, Lunar Shadow Grey, which is meant to reflect the moon’s surface, has an almost fluid, liquidy flow to it. You will struggle to cover it with a case.
Ironically, you won’t need a case for the Magic7 Pro (I do recommend one, though!), as this handset’s lightweight aluminium frame is encased between toughened glass and the display is covered by the HONOR NanoCrystal Shield.
To further enhance its tough credentials, the Magic7 Pro has been rated IP68 and IP69!

In this big trend of AI, HONOR is very happy to bring our latest solution to the market, besides the Hybrid AI experience we are offering, we are actively thinking how AI will re-structure hardware and software experiences. We are extremely thrilled by the performance and dynamics from the market which show huge consumer interests and recognition for our continued innovation.

This means the handset can be submerged in up to 1.5m of water and is dust resistant, but it can also handle high-pressure water jets and steam cleaning.
Camera Performance HONOR Magic7 Pro Review
HONOR may sell most of its Magic7 Pro handsets because the triple-lens rear camera performs well and is fun to use and explore.
Sure, it was launched at a press event on Lake Bled in Slovenia, one of the most picturesque places on earth, which can make any phone camera seem good, but I really like what’s been achieved here.
The HONOR Magic7 Pro packs a powerhouse triple-lens camera system. Its headliner is a 50MP wide sensor with a variable f/1.4-2.0 aperture for excellent low-light shots, backed by multi-directional PDAF and OIS for sharp, steady results. A massive 200MP periscope telephoto lens delivers 3x optical zoom, capturing distant subjects in incredible detail with PDAF and OIS.
The 50MP ultrawide camera expands the field of view to 122°, making it ideal for landscapes and group shots. Laser autofocus, a colour spectrum sensor, and HDR fine-tune every shot, while 4K recording at up to 60fps and slow motion at 240fps ensure top-tier video capabilities. With gyro-EIS and 10-bit video support, it’s built for stills and high-quality video capture.
AI is everywhere in the Magic7 Pro, including facial scanning for deep fake video calls, but most users will benefit from it within the camera software. The AI Superzoom feature is a great example, and I feel HONOR will only improve on it.
Final Thoughts HONOR Magic7 Pro Review
When a car enthusiast gets a new car, you’ll know they are happy with it as they always look back at it with a smile when they walk away. The same is true for anyone who loves their new smartphone. They’ll constantly pick it up or hold it, not even to use it, just to have it.
This is how I felt during my HONOR Magic7 Pro review these past few weeks while I was testing it! If I owned one, which I probably will, I would struggle to keep it in a case. The Lunar Shadow Grey is arguably one of the nicest colourways for a handset, and the prominent “squircle” (circular square) camera housing is significant but not overbearingly so and pops nicely against the liquidy grey finish.
The weight balance is near perfect for a larger handset, making it sit comfortably in my palm and easy enough for one-handed use when on the go.
The expansive 6.8″ LTPO OLED display paired with the MagicOS 9 interface on Android 15 OS delivered a seamless and engaging user experience that impressed me.
All of that is before the Camera! It performed so well, and more importantly, it was fun to use and discover the different settings, something I’ve not experienced for a long time in a new handset.
On paper, the HONOR Magic7 Pro shares many of the same or similar specifications of the other flagship Android devices available, including the new Galaxy S25 series, but it feels like HONOR has managed to get all of the pieces in the correct order to create not only a great 2025 smartphone but one that could remain relevant for several years to come.
