Fly Delta App

Just a couple of weeks after the Delta & Uber partnership went live and almost a year since version 6, Delta Air Lines has released version 7.0 of its Fly Delta App.

The version introduces enhancements to give travellers greater control and a more personalised experience.

The update, which is rolling out ahead of the summer travel season, includes new tools for Medallion members, iOS lock screen enhancements, and improved disruption management.

What’s New Fly Delta App

iPhone users on iOS 16 and above can now access real-time flight updates via Live Activities on their lock screen and Dynamic Island. These updates cover the entire journey, from boarding and departure to in-flight progress and arrival.

During checkout, Platinum and Diamond Medallion Members can now redeem Global and Regional Upgrade Certificates directly within the Fly Delta App. Starting June 1st, all Choice Benefits selections will also move exclusively to the app.

Following the announcement at the end of April of its Uber partnership, SkyMiles members can link their Uber accounts to earn miles automatically. Eligible rides and Uber Eats orders over $40 will now count towards their SkyMiles balance.

Enhanced notification capabilities will help keep passengers informed during changes. Beginning in June, same-day standby rebooking for earlier domestic flights will be possible directly through the app.

More to Come

One of the standout announcements during Delta’s CES Keynote speech at The Sphere in Las Vegas this year was its intention to roll out the Delta Concierge.

The airline has confirmed that this new in-app AI assistant, designed to offer contextual travel advice and personalised suggestions during a trip, will launch in 2025.

Finally, the app will soon notify users of any missing documents or requirements for international trips to help reduce check-in delays.
