I’ve covered Turo many times on {Tech} for Travel, as they have a great app that offers a genuine benefit to travellers, and a great alternative to the usual rental car offerings.
If you’ve not heard of Turo they are the worlds biggest peer-to-peer car sharing network. Operating in thousands of cities, globally, they enable car owners to lease their vehicles to travellers. The real beauty is the choice of cars; from functional, to sporty and on to Dream cars, they have them all!
Now travellers too, and residents in, the UK have access to even more cars!
Turo Expand their UK Network
Turo have announced they have moved away from their ‘lite’ offering in the UK which was based mostly on smaller car rental firms using the platform to a full peer-to-peer experience!
Now any UK car owner, who meets the Turo requirements, can lease their vehicle on the App for travellers to use.
The change has already happened and a quick search for any given dates in London offers a huge variety of vehicles.
But the real benefit will be found outside of London, where previously you would not have found a Turo car; there is now a good selection. Fancy a trip off the beaten track through the Highlands of Scotland?
Setting my search for Edinburgh Airport on the same dates now gives me plenty to choose from including a wide range of 4×4 cars.
