What to Expect

Wearable tech is bigger than ever, with fitness trackers and smartwatches, being the highlight of last years event! We should see a new generation this year, with more devices supporting mobile payments. The line between watch and fitness tracker is continually being blurred which results in more choice for the consumer and better innovation!

On the audio front, I’m hoping to see some new entry to mid level wireless headsets from the bigger names. The market is shifting more towards wireless, as we see traditional headphone ports being phased out on new devices. But the choice of non 3.5mm traditional headphone connected devices are not to consumer friendly.

Either pay a heavy premium for top of the range or grab a bargain priced pair and be disappointed with the audio quality.

Bluetooth & GPS Trackers from short-range to global coverage, are starting to form a very competitive market. One that still uses CES for big announcements. With the rise in smart luggage, hopefully we will see one or two new GPS trackers that could have agreements with luggage brands.

As for the Bluetooth trackers, this is always a developing area for protecting your kit. They are made smaller, slimmer, multifunctional or a combination of all 3!

Any sign of new notebooks tend to be of the concept variety, but there are usually a couple of new releases during CES in this market. Apple stay away from CES and prefer to host their own events, as do Samsung, but Lenovo do attend and are doing a great job in diversifying their range of notebooks, tablets and 2-in-1s.

{Tech} for Travel will be covering all the major breaking news, and will be sharing content across all of our social channels! So be sure to connect for video and images direct from Las Vegas next week.
