It’s one of the most anticipated product releases of the year, and the Apple Fall Event 2023 looks like it might be worth tuning into this time!
Apple Fall Event 2023
The Cupertino tech giant hosts several events throughout the year, often centred around product launches or its annual summer Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.
Undoubtedly, the most significant and most eagerly anticipated is the September Fall event, which often marks the arrival of the latest iPhone. Anything else is just added goodness. However, the Apple Fall Event 2023 could be one of the biggest iPhone launches in recent years.
Most new iPhone events spend ages boasting about an extra 2MP to a lens, a few grams of weight shedding or a new colour that will be dropped the following year.
The Apple Fall Event 2023 will usher in the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, the four latest models in the iPhone timeline, but with at least one significant change.
USB-C!
Why the Change?
In 2022, EU regulators moved forward with new rules stating that all new handsets after Autumn 2024 must be sold with only a USB-C connector. This is expected to reduce tech waste in the future!
Every launch comes with its own cryptic name, and the Apple Fall Event 2023 has gone with “Wonderlust,” I hope this is a play on the word many travellers reading this suffer from Wanderlust.
With the new iPhone 15 line-up, Apple fans can expect the latest wearables in the form of Watch 9 and possibly a new Watch Ultra.
Despite the Wonderlust name, and any travel-related upgrades would be a bonus, the move to USB-C on iPhone is a welcome change and one less cable needed for iPhone travellers worldwide.
An outside bet for other new devices could see some new AirPods and/or AirPods Pro earbuds. Both models are mid to late cycle but are still equipped with Lightning ports. Will Apple use this Fall Event to bring USB-C to its popular earbuds?
