For the Samsung fans among us, the Unpacked events usually mean the latest and greatest handset from the South korean Tech giant!  This year we have already been given the brilliant Galaxy S9/9+ during #MWC2018 in Barcelona, and now we have a date for, potentially, the new Galaxy Note 9!

Samsung have now confirmed August 9th will be the date for their next launch, which is widely expected to be the next era in their ‘Phablet’ range, the Note 9.

“On August 9, Samsung Electronics will welcome a new member to the premium Galaxy family.

To celebrate the launch of the upcoming device, the company is hosting the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event on August 9, 2018.” ~ Samsung Newsroom

The invite video for the event shows off very little other than the stylus in a rather fetching yellowish finish!

The Note series, and any Phablet style handset (bigger than your normal smart phone but smaller than a tablet) tend to be an acquired taste due to their size.  But there is no denying that these devices now pack some serious computing power for those who live by, and on, their handsets!

As the event gets closer, Samsung are releasing hints at what is to come.  So far we know we can expect a device with long(er) battery performance, potentially more onboard storage and improved power!

If true, this would make a welcome change from the usual ‘better camera’ and ‘a new colour option’ improvements we tend to see between new models.  However, all will be revealed in a little under 2 weeks time!
