A partnership between a luggage brand and a Formula One team makes perfect sense. These teams can travel internationally for 30+ weeks in a year and require cases that can do the same. The updated TUMI McLaren 2022 Luggage Collection ensures they do so safely.
TUMI McLaren 2022 Luggage Collection
McLaren and TUMI announced a formal partnership in 2019, with TUMI providing the F1 team “with world-class business and travel essentials, designed to uncomplicate and elevate performance in all aspects of life on the move”.
Following on from this, in 2021, this partnership produced a Premium Capsule Luggage and Travel Collection, which was further increased with four additional pieces later in the year. These will remain on sale alongside the new all-carbon pieces that have been announced.
The original collection of cases and packs were made from 100% Ballistic Nylon with carbon fibre and McLaren Papaya accents running throughout each item.
Four new Carbon items are joining the McLaren collection for 2022; a Carry-on, the Velocity Backpack, Quantum Duffel and Torque Sling.
The collaboration has been co-created by McLaren Automotive Design Director Rob Melville and TUMI Creative Director Victor Sanz – offering an elegant, contemporary collection of business, travel and everyday essentials. Each piece is designed to elevate performance in all aspects of life on the move. Serving as a reminder that it’s about enjoying the journey. Not simply the destination. Just as with our cars.

Unfortunately, my favourite from the original collection, the Halo Backpack, hasn’t been given an all-carbon upgrade… yet!
The entire collection comprises nineteen pieces, eighteen for North America (no Nivolet Luggage Tag).
This includes a passport cover, a selection of crossbody slings & pouches, two different backpacks, duffels and the iconic Aero International Expandable 4-Wheeled Carry-On in either Balistic Nylon or Full Carbon.
Where, When & Pricing
All 19 pieces of the TUMI McLaren Collection are available at tumi.com, with prices starting from $150/£140 for the Passport cover and up to $2,495/£2,425 for the new Carbon edition Aero International Expandable 4 Wheeled Carry-On case.
