XD Design Bobby Tech Backpack

With their iconic styling, security conscious design and desire to pack as many features in as possible, XD Design are back with two new Backpacks for 2019!

The new pieces consist of the Bobby Pro and Bobby Tech, with my focus on the latter!

Features

XD Design currently have six different Backpacks and, with the exception of the Urban, they all share that unique design! The new Tech model maintains that styling with the inclusion of a new feature, an 8.5w solar panel!

The flexible solar panel is built into the front of the Bobby Tech and attached to a voltage regulator which delivers power to the included wireless charging pad.

Although the Bobby Tech doesn’t come with a power pack, you can attach your own for power storage on the go! There is a dedicated pocket for the wireless charging pad so your phone will always be close to hand and accessible.

Also on the outside are 2 concealed pockets; the first is big enough to hold and provide easy access to a small tablet or e-reader, and the second offers fast access to important items, such as your passport, and is RFID protected!

There’s one further RFID pocket dedicated to your travel/credit cards hidden on the right shoulder strap to make your commute a little bit easier!

All of this whilst maintaining the XD Design commitment to security, by keeping all access points to the Bobby Tech against your back when being worn. Thus, stopping any unwanted entry from thieves!

On the inside, the Bobby Tech has two, padded, storage sections for both laptop (up to 15.6″) and tablets (up to 12.9″), then a large customisable area on the opposite side!

The backpack has 18l of storage capacity, and XD Design give you the choice of how to make the most of that space. In the main compartment you can leave it open, close it off with the attached curtain or insert padded dividers to create smaller sections. Perfect for a travelling photographers or those with expensive tech!

Desirable, functional, secure, powered. The Bobby Tech backpack could be the best yet from XD Design! ~ {Tech} for Travel.

Specifications

My only gripe so far is the lack of a water bottle or cup holder on the side of the Bobby Tech. There is an internal strap for them, should you need it, or, on the left shoulder strap is a connection called FidLock.

Using various attachments you can lock on your phone or travel mug to the FidLock connector for hands-free travel!
