iPhone SE:

Following on from the 21st March Special Event, today sees the release of the iPhone SE. Returning to the form factor of the older 5s range and not the larger 6 range, this handset could prove a popular choice due to the high spec and low entry price.

At just £359 for the 16GB version some could be tempted, but modern day apps would dictate the more expensive 64GB model at £439 better deal. A full spec list can be found here, but some stand outs are:

  • A9 Chip (Same as the 6s)
  • Apple Pay
  • 12mp iSight camera with Live Photos
  • 4k Video Recording
  • Up to 10 days battery stand by time

Those wanting the smaller iPhone back in their hands or parents giving in to the kids demands will surely be having a look.

Apple Release 9.3.1:

Those of you not upgrading your handsets and using iPhones may want to check your software. Today Apple started pushing out iOS 9.3.1

iOS_Update 9.3.1

This update was released to fix the universal links issue many users have been reporting over in the Apple forums.  Basically App developers can list all the web addresses that, when opened in the browser, automatically opens the app.  Developers took this to the extreme and loaded large lists of domains to start their apps, some exceeding 2mb!

You can attach your iPhone to your computer and update via iTunes or on your handset:

Settings > General > Software Update > Download.

Be sure to have made a back up prior to any OS update.
