IFA, the biggest consumer electronics show in Europe has opened it’s doors for 2016. The event in Berlin, which has been running in it’s current format since 2005, is a platform for the tech world to demonstrate and show off their new and future products. During the week I will bring you updates on new product announcements from the event.
Lenovo 2-in-1 Yoga Book
Lenovo clearly believed tablet users were hard done by when it came to using their devices properly. Being unable to utilise the power within, due to poorly designed virtual or add on keyboards and stylus/pens was no longer acceptable. So they have had a go at reinventing the 2 in 1 tablet/laptop!
The Yoga Book, looks stunning, with it’s Aluminum and Magnesium shell coming in either Gunmetal Grey and Champagne Gold (Black, Windows version) and housing some impressive specs.

One of the big selling points is the Halo keyboard. It can be called upon on the “Create Pad” half of the unit and promises “…. it weaves software and hardware into one interface, allowing for a typing experience that far surpasses conventional tablets and matches that of physical keyboards”.
Then you have the Real Pen. It is a smart stylus that when used on paper, in ink or directly to the Create Pad, instantly digitizing your notes and sketches. As you would expect the marketing videos and images show this to work very well, but those getting an early hands on go with the Yoga Book seem to be very impressed, confirming how well it works.
The Yoga Book comes in either android (Marshmallow) or Windows (10) versions. All are available for pre order from the Lenovo online store with the Android models priced at £430 and the Windows unit at £510. The shipping time is currently stated as 4 weeks.
