When Nomad first announced their original Glow Sports Band in ’23, it launched and totally sold out while I was on a flight from London to NYC. It went quickly!
The demand for and success of Glow surprised Nomad. I’ve met the team a couple of times recently at tech shows, and despite having an impressive portfolio of premium cases and straps in materials like Horween Leather and Natural Titanium, Glow feedback was overwhelmingly positive, which has pushed the Californian brand to up the ante for a second generation.
Their latest release, the Nomad Goods Glow 2.0 Collection, features the Apple Watch Sport Band and an iPhone Sport Case—an ideal combination for those who like to stand out or have unique accessories for their Apple devices.
And Glow 2.0 isn’t just a restock of the original; it’s a significant upgrade!
This time, the band and the matching iPhone case transition from a classic pale green by day to a vivid neon green in the dark, glowing three times brighter than the original. Nomad says it has perfected this after testing nearly two dozen prototypes to achieve the perfect intensity and hue of green that pops in the dark.
From a technical aspect, the Glow 2.0 Sport Band is crafted from high-quality FKM fluoroelastomer rubber and will be available in two sizes to fit the 49mm/45mm and 41mm/40mm Apple Watch models.
I’m currently switching between their Night Watch Red and a special edition CES2024 band from this year’s event in Las Vegas. They still look brand new after several months of daily use, swimming, and general travel. The FKM fluoroelastomer rubber has the right amount of stretch to ensure a good fit for any wrist size. It is super durable and 100% waterproof.
The Glow 2.0 Sport Case for the iPhone supports MagSafe and wireless charging, which is essential for easy power-ups. The case also features a high-gloss, grippy backplate that feels great in your hand and adds an extra layer of protection against drops and bumps.
The tactile anodized aluminium buttons are a nice touch, giving you that satisfying click when pressed, but there is some bad news. This Glow case will only be available for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models. So many iPhone owners will miss out!
First Impressions
Nomad Goods kindly sent over the collection so I can have a sneak peek ahead of today’s launch. My first impression was that I preferred them in daylight!
The Watch Strap colour is a refreshing yet stunning lemon/lime colourway with a pastel finish. I keep looking down at my wrist as I type to admire it.
If you missed out on the High Volta Yellow Sports Case, then getting in on the Glow 2.0 case might be for you. While the High Volta yellow is a slightly different hue, the Glow 2.0 Sports Case is more yellow than the Lemon/Lime colourway of the Strap. The marketing suggests a more pale green hue.
Both the Sport Band and the Case offer new functionality and style. If you’re in the market for new tech accessories that stand out literally at night, these might be what you’re looking for.
The Limited Edition means they won’t be around forever, so it might be a good idea to grab them while you can.
