Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra // Overview
Is this the Galaxy S device to finally eradicate off the Note series?
Last year Samsung increased the display on the S21 Ultra to make the handset bigger than its “phablet” Note smartphone and even included S PEN support. This year, it’s gone one step further and built an S PEN into the new Galaxy S22 Ultra!
Galaxy S22 Ultra Grows Up
Again, as with the S22 and S22 Plus, the styling changes are minimal. However, the S22 Ultra does have a couple of more noticeable refinements.
The rounded corners have been replaced with more angled, straighter edges. The protective plate has gone around the rear camera lenses, and the Infinity display has been replaced with an edge to edge 6.8″ QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED screen.
Samsung continues its trend of standard and exclusive colour options with further online-only choices available from its website, including Graphite, Sky Blue and Red colourways.
Media Creator
The big camera news for the S22 Ultra is at the front, not the back, as a new 40MP Selfie camera replaces last year’s 10MP shooter and is backed up with the new Nightography mode.
This new mode Advanced allows you to “snap crisp, clear videos on both the front and back cameras, whether you’re recording during the day or night”, Samsung says.
At the back, an almost unchanged triple camera array swaps out last year’s 10MP telephoto lens for a 64MP one, boasts 100x Space Zoom mode and captures 8K video!
Could this be the single biggest step up in camera performance we see on a smartphone?
With the increase in media files thanks to the more detailed images and 8K video, Samsung has moved up to a 1TB model at the top end and 128/256/512GB as the other options.

Great looking phone. I got a Samsung A52 5G in the Black Friday Sale last year, been really pleased with that. If I upgrade in the future I might thing abut getting something like this one.
The A52 is a great phone for the usual price, so a Black Friday deal would make it even better value.
Yeah, got a really good deal on it. Good phone, and a reasonable spec for the prime point I wanted,
