New Galaxy S9 & S9+ to be Revealed at #MWC2018

Samsung have sent out the invites for their next smartphone launch, to be held on 25th February, during this years Mobile World Congress.  The event, held in Barcelona, is the largest Mobile conference in the world, with over 2,300 exhibitors showing off the best, and future of, mobile tech.

Moving away from their own stand alone event and bringing a big product launch back into MWC is great for the industry.  But as a fan of some of their previous stage events, I’ll be sad to see that part disappear!

As for the handset itself, Samsung have kept their cards covered.  Very little is known and the invite only points to “The Camera. Reimagined.”  Which is still a bold statement given all manufacturers have only slightly increased main camera performance over the previous few years!  The full press release reads:

If a picture is worth a thousand words, the latest member of the Galaxy family has a lot to say. On February 25, Samsung Electronics will showcase the next generation of Galaxy devices that reimagines the camera and redefines the way you share your moments.

Samsung will mark the launch of the upcoming device with the Galaxy Unpacked celebration at 6 p.m. CET on February 25, 2018 during Mobile World Congress.              ~ Samsung News Room

The Unpacked event or, celebration, as Samsung calls it, will be live streamed from 6pm CET via three different sites; Samsung Newsroom, Samsung Galaxy and Samsung Mobile.
