“The photo was taken on a day 1 of a 4 day hike between Mestia and Ushguli in Georgia. I was there back in October 2017 when they said it might be too cold and snowy to do this hike. We decided to start the hike anyway and hope for the best. We got incredibly perfect weather the whole 4 days, with the sun, brightly shiny down on us the whole way through.
The hike brings you through the gloriously unspoilt Svaneti mountains in northwestern Georgia. You spend the days easily wandering through tiny, isolated towns and wide open valleys, with the beautifully dominating mountains always looking over your shoulder. You cross river beds and mountain sides, to finish off your days in homestays along the way.
