RIMOWA x PALACE Cabin Carry-On
For its latest limited edition collaboration, RIMOWA has teamed up with London Skateboard and Street Wear brand PALACE for a unique new styling to its iconic aluminium carry-on case, the Cabin.
RIMOWA continually enhances its range of luggage with previous collaborations such as those with Dior and Moncler and, more recently, with another London-based brand, CHAOS. The latter produced the CHAOS Luggage Harness for Cabin, a piece that went on to feature in my 2021 Best Travel Gadgets Guide.
For this latest Limited Edition, there are three pieces, a unique Cabin Carry-on, a sticker set and, if you’re feeling adventurous, a Skateboard deck!
What makes the RIMOWA x PALACE Cabin Carry-On a limited edition is the custom colourway named Desert, which surrounds the entire Aluminium casing.
Together, the pattern and the grooved shell’s sheen create an optical illusion of light reflecting from the pink sky. This exclusive design promises to become a collector’s and skateboard lover’s item.
RIMOWA
Set in what RIMOWA describes as “an imagined world”, the artwork looks like a martian landscape using vibrant colours to bring the PALACE logo to life on the main front panel. In contrast, the back panel has the bust of a figure in front of a twilight sky.
The artwork covers all four edges of the case, whilst all other specifications of the 35L capacity Cabin Carry-On remain the same as the original aluminium travellers staple.
