Following on from the 2020 Pro model, Lenovo has announced a family-focused affordable mid-market Android tablet. The new Tab P11 was confirmed in the lead up to and then shown off at, #CES2021.
Lenovo Tab P11
I’ve always felt Android tablets were slow off the mark, with Apple quickly cornering the market. But, as the technology, power and function of tablets, has improved so much, some users are leaving notebooks for them.
The beauty of tablets though, is they are cheaper and more easily tailored to a certain audience.
This is true of the Lenovo Tab P11. A budget-friendly, mid-market tablet with plenty of peripherals supported making it a great educational tool and the power to deliver.
Tab P11 Features
Back when we all travelled, most families were guilty of using a tablet to keep the kids quiet. Now, those families need that same technology to help with homeschooling. The P11 is one of only a few tablets which has the new Google Kids Space mode.
Aimed at the Under 9’s, Kids Space is made for tablets and delivers a tonne of digital content in a safe child-friendly online space. And, as your children grow the Kids Space mode can be topped up with apps from the Google Play store.
The Tab P11 is also TUV Certified, which means the display limits the amount of harmful blue light emitted, to reduce eye strain.

However, you might find it hard handing the Tab P11 over as it’s a superb looking device that the Lenovo design team has crafted. Admittedly, these good looks were lifted from its bigger sibling, the Tab P11 Pro, which makes the new cheaper Tab, an even better deal!
Media Friendly
The new Lenovo Tab P11 comes with an 11″ Multi-touch 2K IPS LCD display and surrounded by 4 Dolby Atmos® Optimised speakers, perfect for movies on the go.
Which is why Lenovo has achieved another accolade for the Tab P11 in that it’s one of only a select few of tablets certified to stream Netflix shows in HD.
The viewing experience has been further enhanced by a nice thin bezel all the way around the display. There are only two physical buttons on the Tab P11, a power button and the volume control, both are placed on the rim. This means no fingerprint scanner for unlocking but is replaced by Face Unlock using the front-facing Cam.

Good Power for the Price
Inside, Lenovo has given the Tab P11 a Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 662 processor and a choice of 4 or 6GB memory configurations. The storage options are 64/128GB but with the MicroSD card slot, the P11 can be expanded up to an additional 1TB of storage space!
Lenovo claims the 7,700mAh internal battery will deliver up to 15 hours of use for just audio playback and 12 for Video. These results will differ depending on use or if you have the Lenovo Keyboard Pack (sold separately) attached which draws a small amount of power via the 4-point Pogo Pin connection.
The Tab P11 comes with Lenovos Smart Privacy feature built-in. This blurs out the background when you’re using it for a video call.
Accessories Galore
In 2021, it’s not enough to just be a good tablet. The device is just the foundation, accessories are what makes a tablet a users primary device. And Lenovo has done just that!
At launch, there is four peripherals that are sold separately, but designed for the P11.
A Black Fabric Folio case with a microfibre lined inner panel provides a modern and minimal styling to protect the tablet. The Smart Charging Station 2 is a Docking station that will also support the P11 Pro, hopefully proving this is going to be an eco-system that Lenovo will be building on.
But it’s the new Precision Pen 2 and Keyboard Pack that will win over new users. The Pen boast over 4,000 different levels of pressure recognition and tilt detection. It has a 200-hour battery life and charges up over USB-C.
But for me, the new Keyboard Pack which comprises of a kickstand cover and a Lenovo Ultra-Thin keyboard, make this mid-market offering look, and feel, like a Pro model.
