First announced during #MWC2019, the new Lenovo ThinkPad X390 is now available for sale and updates one of the most popular ThinkPad ranges for the business traveller.

With a combination of slim & lightweight design, packed with a powerful spec list and built to the high ThinkPad standard, the X Models are always a popular option for “road warriors” and frequent business travellers.

Features

Lenovo has taken a good look at how business travellers have to work when mobile and decided the X390 needs to provide better security for its users…. along with less weight and more specs!

Firstly, the new ThinkPad X390 has a 13.3″ display in the space of a 12″ chassis, thanks to a 50% slimmer bezel. There are three display options going up to a 13.3” FHD IPS PrivacyGuard (400nit) at the top spec.

Crafted with precision, the ThinkPad X390
is designed for modern professionals on the move. This ultraportable laptop comes with
industry-leading technology and ThinkShield
suite of security solutions, making mobility safe
and effortless.

Even with the newer thinner bezel, there has still been room for an upgraded camera to be included with either an HD or HD + IR option. Both of which come with the new ThinkShutter, a physical cover to guarantee no unwanted viewers!

But that’s just the start of a very secure ThinkPad as the X390 has several advanced protection features! PrivacyGuard is activated with a single keystroke and blacks out the display from either side, giving just the user visibility of what’s on screen.

There’s also PrivacyAlert, which uses the IR cam, to detect when people are trying to view, or snoop, your screen behind you and provide an alert! A fingerprint reader for a more secure log-in option is also included as standard.

The market-leading ThinkPad keyboard is backlit with white LEDs and has both TrackPad and TrackPoint as input devices. Unlike other “portable” laptops the X390 hasn’t cut back on connectivity with 7 various ports including one Thunderbolt™️3.
