Fitbit Charge 2

The original Charge model came as two options, the standard model and the HR version. Now it seems Fitbit have done away with that and just given us the Charge 2.

The new model has some subtle design changes including a bigger and removable display. This allows them to open up the Charge range to the interchangeable wristband market boosting their accessories sales in the process!

The real improvements though are in the unit itself. I reviewed the original Charge HR back in March and my only complaints on it were more cosmetic than what it actually delivered. The Charge 2 builds on that solid offering with a bunch of new features.

The inclusion of multi sport tracking will be welcome to most although, how accurate it will be, only time will tell.  The stand out feature for me is the connected GPS. This relies on your smartphones GPS to assist in your tracking.  This was lacking in the original and left me using another app.

The Charge 2 has gone on pre sale replacing the previous models. It has a starting price of £130 direct from Fitbit with shipping expected to start in the next week or two.

Fitbit Flex 2

The Flex range is Fitbits basic all round fitness tracker designed and built for everyone, and has undergone a huge facelift to give us the Flex 2.

The Flex 2 looks much more slicker compared to the original, comes with a lot more accessories you can wear it in, if the basic band is not to your liking, and….. it is swimproof!!

There is no display other than 5 LED lights, so you need to rely on the smartphone app for the detailed feedback. Luckily, Fitbit have the dashboard, one of the best fitness tracker mobile apps on the market, and it is continually getting improvement updates.
