Following the 2021 Los Angeles headphones, the new Urbanista Phoenix ANC Earphones mark the second device launched from the Urbanista and Exeger partnership.

Urbanista Phoenix ANC Earphones

I was so impressed by the Los Angeles headphones when Urbanista announced them.

Putting aside the fact they were an industry first to incorporate the Exeger Powerfoyle™ to deliver a potentially endless Solar-powered experience, they were also one of the most aesthetically pleasing headphones of the year. All that before even getting to that great Urbanista sound.

This time, the solar cell makes its way onto the charging case, not the earphones themselves, to deliver both Solar and ambient light charging capabilities.

However, this new charging technology is only a tiny part of a feature-rich pair of earphones.

Urbanista Phoenix ANC Earphones// Features

Unlike the Los Angeles headphones with a lovely wide headband to mount the Powerfoyle™ solar cell panel, Urbanista has mounted the technology on the front face of the Phoenix charging case.

The case has a more elongated shape than other wireless bud charging cases, maximising the surface area available to store the panel. With the few media shots that have been shared so far, the shape of the case suggests it’s possibly more pocket-friendly than others, with a gently tapered wedge body and not just a lump.

Thanks to the Powerfoyle™ technology, Urabnista says it could be possible to have unlimited play time without socket charging. Powerfoyle™ converts outdoor and indoor light into power, and the case boasts a 24-hour battery power reserve.

Therefore keeping the case under any form of light and placing the buds back into the case for charging when not in use will result in fully charged buds and no need for a cable ever again. Hopefully!

While the full technical specifications are still to be confirmed, Urbanista has announced that the new Phoenix Earphones will come with Bluetooth 5.2 for a seamless pairing experience and Multipoint connectivity.

The Phoneix earphones are IPX4 rated out of the case and can resist sweat and light rain but should not be submerged in water. Phoenix will come in two colourways; Midnight Black and Desert Rose.

These earbuds are designed to deliver a crystal clear and transparent sound with a punchy bass that doesn’t overpower the mids and highs. With the ability to provide an endless audio experience, Phoenix also delivers sound that will have you listening comfortably for hours on end.

Urbanista Sound

Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling has been included along with Transparency Mode for when you quickly need to hear someone or your surroundings.

I’ve tried and reviewed many of the Urbanista range, including its speakers, and they’ve consistently delivered a clear, loud, deep sound experience.

To help continue this reputation, the Phoenix Earphones will come with noise reduction microphones that will give clear hands-free video calls that can be controlled using side touch-sensitive surfaces. And, there’s more good news for the audio connoisseurs as the new earphones will be supported on the Urbanista mobile companion app (Android | Apple).

Along with the ability to customise the controls and monitor the batteries in the app, there are “EQ controls to adjust the audio to meet your taste”.
