I have a treat for you this week, with a view most of us only see on the TV!!

A bucket list item for many, Serengeti National Park in northern Tanzania is a land of extremes and surprises. The park is famous for the Great Wildebeest Migration and scenes of big cats hunting in the tall grasses of the plains. While on safari at the beginning of the dry season, I had the opportunity to see a different side of the Serengeti. Driving over dusty dirt tracks past stands of acacia trees and watering holes I was shocked by the vastness of the park. The endless plains extend beyond an impossibly flat horizon broken only by kopjes and the occasional candelabra tree. Yet, with all this space, animals can be seen almost everywhere. Large herds of elephants and zebra, prides of lions, secretary birds, and the occasional lone giraffe are frequently spotted. Vast as the Serengeti is, it is filled with life.
